- Darcy Tulya Jaskwhich , RYT
Darcy began exploring yoga a little over 20 years ago with Kundalini
Yoga. Between pauses in her practice for college, career and children,
Darcy continued to broaden her exposure to yoga with a variety of yoga’s
forms, including Iyengar, Vinyasa Flow and Integral. In 2002 she was
blessed in being able to develop a consistent study and practice of
yoga, including various certifications. In 2005 she completed her 200
RYT at Holy Cow Yoga under the guidance of Trace Sahaja Bonner. Darcy
continues her professional development with many wonderful teachers
including Doug Swenson, Ravi Singh and Anna Brett, Stephanie Keach,
Swamis Ashokananda and Karunananda, and Christine Carr. Between the joys
of 4 small children, and small business ownership, Darcy is pursuing her
500-hour RYT certification with Yoga Alliance. Her desire to open a
studio came from “’want (ing) to share with everyone the gifts of yoga,
strength, serenity, balance, and joy in all things.’ ‘ A daily practice
of yoga benefits not only me but also my family, and in turn everyone we
meet”.

Marlene teaches various styles including Yin Yang Yoga (a mix
of Yin style slow release of connective tissue that features
primarily floor poses held for 1 min or more, interspersed with
some stronger active Yang style poses), and the hatha yoga
vinyasa style of interweaving one pose with the next. Marlene's
teaching emphasizes weaving the philosophical aspects of
yoga, such as cultivating inner serenity and meditative
awareness, with flowing physical postures (asanas) that enhance
physical strength, stamina and flexibility. Yoga's wide-ranging
effectiveness comes from its concurrent physical and mental
effects. As our ability to turn inward and awaken ourselves with
mindfulness grows, we bring what we learn from our yoga asanas
to expand the limits of our day-to-day life. Marlene's
experience as a registered nurse and licensed massage therapist
has influenced her emphasis on proper body mechanics to help
improve the beneficial effects of yoga. As a registered yoga
teacher (RYT), teaching yoga since 2000, currently enrolled in
an Advanced Teacher's program, Marlene continues to study and
explore various styles of yoga. Her other passions include
gardening, dancing and art.
